Inside a custom spring manufacturing workflow

Custom spring production starts with the drawing or application requirement and continues through process planning, sample evaluation and production control. The steps used depend on the spring design and material.

From strip preparation to forming

Typical operations may include strip slitting and edge preparation, material conditioning or heat treatment, winding or forming, and preparation of end features. The process route is selected for the specific spring rather than assumed to be identical for every product.

Inspection and validation

Applicable checks can include dimensions, hardness, torque and fatigue performance. The customer’s drawing, test method and acceptance criteria define what must be verified. Salt-spray testing is arranged through a qualified third-party laboratory when required.

Why project requirements matter

Material, dimensions, operating range and assembly conditions influence both process selection and inspection. A complete quotation should identify the drawing revision, applicable tests, sample charges, production quantity, delivery assumptions and any special packaging or traceability needs.

Equipment inventories and production-capacity figures describe the factory at a particular time and across multiple product specifications. They should not be interpreted as a guaranteed capacity for an individual order. Project-specific capacity and delivery are confirmed after the design and production schedule are reviewed.
